IV. Reflection
In this lesson I tried so many ways to help Ss understand the meaning of the story and three new possessive pronouns, ‘her, his, their’. We also learned the new words ‘coat’, ‘clown’ at the same time. After class most of the students were able to talk about others’ belongings with ‘This is her…’ or ‘That is his…’.
But I still have something to improve on, such as:
1) Give Ss more chances to express using his… or her… phrases, so that they will improve their spoken English and be able to use the possessive pronouns freely and correctly.
2) Although it’s hard to do groups’ work in the first graders, I should do more groups’ work on purpose in class. That will help Ss learn from his or her group partners and learn to cooperate.
